Kundli matching (kundli milan, Guna Milan) is the Vedic comparison of two birth charts that many Indian families make before a marriage. Its best known part, the Ashtakoota method, compares the Moon of the two charts in eight kutas worth 36 points in all.
AstroSensus calculates the eight kutas from astronomical Moon positions with the Lahiri ayanamsa and the traditional tables, and names the doshas without applying contested exceptions. The score describes how two emotional rhythms meet in the tradition — a starting point for conversation, not a verdict on a relationship.

From the Moon of each person: its nakshatra and its sign in the sidereal zodiac. Eight kutas — Varna 1, Vashya 2, Tara 3, Yoni 4, Graha Maitri 5, Gana 6, Bhakoot 7 and Nadi 8 points — add up to 36. Each kuta is read from a traditional table.
The tradition usually treats under 18 points as weak, 18 to 24 as acceptable, 25 to 32 as good and 33 or more as very good. Astrologers always read the score together with the doshas and the rest of both charts.
The classical method reads Varna, Vashya and Gana from the groom’s side to the bride’s. The form names the sides as the tradition does; the other five kutas give the same points in either order.
Choose “I do not know the time”. The Moon moves about 13° a day, so if it changes nakshatra or sign during that birth day, the page shows the lowest and highest score the pair can have. Manglik is then counted from the Moon only.
No. Classical texts list exceptions to Nadi and Bhakoot dosha, but they disagree on them, so the page shows the raw points and names each dosha. An astrologer may weigh the exceptions with the whole charts.
