Supermoon
Also known as: micromoon
A supermoon is a new or full moon that occurs when the Moon is near perigee (the closest point of its orbit to Earth), making it look noticeably larger and brighter than usual.
Astrologically a super-full-moon (the more commonly discussed case, since it's the visually dramatic one) is often felt as an amplified, more intense version of an ordinary full moon. Its opposite is a micromoon — a new or full moon near apogee, the farthest point of the orbit.
