Rashi
Rashi is the Vedic equivalent of a zodiac sign — one of the twelve segments of the sidereal zodiac a given planet passes through at any moment.
In practice, a person's "Rashi" most often refers to their sidereal Moon sign (Chandra Rashi), treated in Vedic astrology as just as important a reference point as the Lagna — and by many Vedic astrologers, even more so.
