Retrogrades

Pre-shadow

The pre-shadow is the period when a planet first crosses the stretch of the zodiac it will later return to during its retrograde.

It begins the moment the planet reaches the degree where it will later stop and turn back (its retrograde station). It's treated as an early preview of themes that will fully surface once the actual retrograde begins.
