Aspects

Orb

Orb is the allowed tolerance around an aspect's exact angle — a conjunction "with a 6-degree orb," for instance, covers planets anywhere from 0 to 6 degrees apart.

The tighter the orb, the stronger and more noticeable the aspect. Different astrologers use different orb sizes (usually smaller for minor aspects like the quincunx and larger for major ones like the conjunction or opposition), which is one reason two readings of the same chart can differ slightly.
