Lunar nodes
Lunar nodes
The lunar nodes are two mathematical points where the Moon's orbit crosses the ecliptic (the Sun's apparent path) — the North Node and, directly opposite it, the South Node.
In Western astrology, the node axis symbolically describes a direction for the soul's growth — from what is already familiar and well-practiced (South Node) toward what is unfamiliar but developmental (North Node). Eclipses also occur near this axis.
