Elements

In astrology, the twelve zodiac signs are grouped into four elements — fire, earth, air and water — three signs each, describing a sign's basic temperament.

Fire (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) is linked to energy and spontaneity, earth (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) to practicality and stability, air (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) to intellect and communication, and water (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) to emotion and intuition.\n\nAstrologers also look at which element dominates a whole chart — one of the quickest traditional ways to sketch someone's temperament.
