Dasha

Dasha is a system for marking off life periods ruled in turn by each planet — one of the most important forecasting tools in Vedic astrology.

During a given planet's dasha, the themes tied to it (a Venus dasha, say — love, art, pleasure) are considered especially active in a person's life. Several dasha systems exist, the most popular being Vimshottari Dasha.
