New Moon in Sagittarius
Wednesday, 9 December 2026 · exactly at 01:00 · UTC
The New Moon opens a new lunar cycle — a time to name an intention before acting on it.
The Moon meets the Sun in the tropical sign of Sagittarius.
The New Moon is the moment when, from Earth’s perspective, the Moon is in the same direction as the Sun, which is why its illuminated part is faintly visible. In astrology, it is traditionally associated with new beginnings, intentions, and organizing the direction of one’s actions, while the sign of Sagittarius is associated with exploring the world, meaning, learning, and broadening one’s horizons. You can treat this time as an opportunity to notice what you want to learn, where you are headed, and which beliefs are worth reconsidering. In the data provided, the event period covers approximately two days, from December 8 to 10, 2026.
